For the first year
Bulldog puppies need to be watched very carefully, like a child. If you or a responsible other person cannot "keep an eye on them", they should be crated. They could get injured or eat something they shouldn't. If you give your pup safe toys in his crate, and to keep him occupied around the house, he will chew your stuff less. Teach your dog what they can and cannot do from an early age, and you will have a well trained dog. If you think it is cute when they bite or chew your stuff at 3 months old, they will not understand why you don't like it so much when they do it at a year!
Socialize your puppy as much as possible, with dogs and people, to make him a well adjusted, confident, non-aggressive adult. There are many classes you can attend, puppy K, or obedience are a good start. A dog club in your area can help you find out when and where classes are.
Feeding Instructions
**Never feed your dog grapes, raisins, chocolate or nuts, it could be fatal.
Keeping a clean puppy
Your bulldog needs his wrinkles cleaned daily. Unscented Baby wipes are a good choice, as they are gentle on the skin, but durable. Failure to keep your puppy's wrinkles clean, could lead to a fast spreading bacterial infection.
Ears should be cleaned weekly, with canine ear cleanser (any brand). We make our own, which works very well... equal parts hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol, white vinegar.
Bulldog nails grow fast, and should be kept short and blunt, if you do not know how, or feel uncomfortable cutting your dogs nails, take him once a week to get them done, or have someone show you how. If left to long they will be harder to cut to the right length later! Plus, they don't look good when they twist and curl, and you bought a bulldog! so keep him looking HOT!
Bathing bi-weekly is sufficient to keep your bulldog smelling clean. Always towel or blow dry your bulldog completely after a bath, and keep their skin dry. Never "crate" your bulldog when wet, or they might smell like smelly feet!
